TT won't start
Hi Phil. TT has stopped loading. When I try to start it, I get this message: "Unable to create a connection to the local TuskTools Calendar data file; program exiting."

Hi Phil.
Well, TuskTools is working again. I ahev no idea why it stopped and I'm afraid I can't give you any definitive explanation what I've done to cure the problem. The only thing I can say is that I had uninstalled a number of programmes that I was no longer using but I didn't re-try Tusktools immediately. I can only assume one or other was causing the problem.
Suffice it to say, thank god it's working again. I really missed it when it wasnt.
BTW Treeliner sounds another winner.
Cheers

I'm having the exact same problem. Here's a screenshot of the message. My heart is broken. I use Evernote with TT a lot. Now I feel crippled. How can I figure out which recently downloaded program might be causing the problem? I've done all of the suggestions in the above comments that were suggested for Maurice.

Hi Marcus,
This component gets installed by TT Calendar if not already present, but maybe something has interfered now on your machine - can you try installing it directly, then launch TT Calendar and see if that allows TT to run:

When I am trying to run this from your link above I get two options, one for repairing the program and the other for removing it. I removed it. Now when I try to reinstall it I get this message:

Marcus,
I would try uninstalling Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 from your Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features list (if it's there), and then see if you can install it on its own from here:

Hi Colin,
Please check a few things:
1. In your Windows system tray, do you have an icon for TuskTools Sync? If you do and you hover your mouse on it, does it say “Idle” or “Synchronizing”? If it says "Idle", please right-click it and select "About" - what does it show for number of notes?
2. If you do not see that icon, try starting TuskTools Sync from the Windows Start Menu. Does it start up and place the icon in the system tray?

Hi Colin,
Most likely an installation component did not succeed. The first thing I'd recommend is to download and install the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0. If that doesn't allow TT to start, the other component to install would be Microsoft SQL Compact 3.5.
Let me know how that goes.
